After working on her professional site, Laura asked me to help her out with a website for her wedding as well. This time we started with a theme that was already designed. Unfortunately it seems that the original developer for the theme had abandoned the project some years ago. Laura and I both really liked the theme so I set out redeveloping it. I fixed numerous issues that affected functionality, cleaned up a bunch of dead code and tracked down a lot of issues that prevented the theme from working normally. Then I started recoding parts of the theme that worked already to be easier for my client to use such as using WordPress’s Featured Image function instead of a custom meta field. I also modified the design to a decent extent and switched parts of it to code that would better respond to different media and screen sizes.
